In the winter of 2014, December, my friend Rich and I went to Convict Lake, California to take photos of the sunrise. We got there at about 5am and waited for nature to smile at us.

After we took millions of photos of the sun rising above the lake, a bird decided to visit. The Black Billed Magpie, which is a kind of craw.

I was chasing it in the freezing morning when eventually it just stopped and posed for me. I got as close as 5 feet.

What a beautiful creature!
