I often try taking photos that had never been taken before, especially in such touristic place. You can find thousands of photos of Devil’s Postpile, but none of them is similar to mine. So far 😉

Up in northern California, near Mammoth Lakes, there is a place called Devil’s Postpile, an unusual rock formation of columnar basalt. This is one of the 2 most popular spots in the area, the other one being Rainbow Falls.

The name “Devil’s Postpile” refers to a dark cliff of columnar basalt. Radiometric dating indicates the formation was created by a lava flow at some time less than 100,000 years ago.
